Eklavya is one more movie coming from the stables of Vidhu Vinod Chopra and it really deserves to be called one of the finest crafted movies in recent times. Having roped in a heavy starcast with the VC Banner regulars like Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan and Vidya Balan, et. al. as well as getting Amitabh Bachchan to work with him for the first time, he does bring out the best of all of them to narrate a story which took 5 years to write and was equally difficult to portray.

I am a student and a lover of cinema, good cinema to be more precise.
and hence i am a great fan of yours.
i saw your the official blog of the film, http://eklavyatheroyalguard.blogspot.com/ and after going through the reviews, i develoved a desire to speak to you and so this comment/ review.
so what i liked :
Saif Ali khan , i don't know what has happened to him in last couple of years , he has develoved into such a natural, spontaneous actor. at present he is definitely the best among the actors in bollywood ,offcourse along with aamir khan . He was definnitely the best and the shining star in your whole film.
The Character Of DSP , the low caste Chauhar , played superbly by Sanjay Dutt. the entry of Sanjay Dutt in the film where he comments on his ISHT DEVTA being on there MAIN entrance was excellent.
the last scene between Amitabh and his Dharma versus Saif and his love towards his father, was the only gripping scene in the film.
the cinematography is good (But so has the general Standard of cinematography has improved so much)
What I Didn't Like:
The movie doesn't move, giving ample time in between to yawn.
AMITABH, an overexposed actor, he has played the role of an agonising father 200 times in last one year, i mean we see him every day on TV, be it Babul, baghban, Virudh................
the Character of Eklavya, somehow seemed a bit weak.
Vidya Balan was very dissapointing, i think mr Chopra your domination or your over explanation or your perfectionist attitude has some how suppressed the natural flair of Vidya Balan. i might be wrong in this case. but she was not definitely the Vidya we saw in MUNNABHAI or GURU or Parineeta.
and in the end, please don't work with the same group of actors again and again, like jackie, jimmy, Raima , boman, etc . Most of them were misfit especially Boman irani. His diction never sounded like a RAJPUT, and Jackie sounded like Bhai from mumbai. Jimmy was OK.
But still you managed to give the film a classy touch.
See you Again with a new presentation which will touch my bottom of heart again as you did in MISSION KASHMIR, KAREEB, 1942 A LOVE STORY, PARINDA.
