I just got back after watching the movie with my family and I must say that I was disappointed. Overall, the only thing that is working for the movie is the photography & the locales.
I felt that the movie was very slow and over-dramatized. The story-line is very powerful and if the story was developed with certain amount of careful detail (beyond the 15 odd scenes that the movie seems to be made of), then I think it could have been turned into a really memorable movie.
Sanjay Dutt shines, inspite of the limited opportunities that he is given by the script.
This movie was artistic in every sense. It is a master piece and I feel that the director has done a GREAT job! I think that ChopraJI has made a fantastic attempt at blending emotions with dialogue and blending all of it in with perfect scenes ... its the ''FEEL'' you get in each scene thats incredible ... you can almost smell the Rajhistani Mitti and feel the Royal air all around you ... its just incredible :)
Fantastic movie! I saw it first in a single screen cinema and was disappointed bcos of the low sound and bad audience. Then I went again to a multiplex where I thoroughly enjoyed it and the crowd also loved the movie! After Eklavya I dont think I can watch any hindi movie in a theatre...no one comes close to Mr Chopra in terms of quality. How does he strive for perfection when everyone around is content with mediocrity!! Excellent movie boss! Missed Pancham's music but Mr Moitra is not disappointing. Mail me on gauravs09@gmail.com
1. So glad that VVC wisely developed a story in 90 minutes.
2. The fact that the story doubts and addresses a response to a "belief as to what Eklavya's dharm should be", is interesting.
3. The way the story weaves itself and the way the camera helps with the narration is praiseworthy.
4. Editing was sharp and crisp. Only regret, the closing should have edited the dialogue "good, very good" by Saif. A smile or a hint of it, would have said it better.
One should watch the movie with no prejudices. Movie is truly Oscar worthy. Time we got it home.
